Healing Effects of Service Animals for Veterans Nov 05, 2019 7:15 AM
Christine Hassing
Christine Hassing

Christine is in the process of writing the manuscript for her second book, Hope has a Cold Nose, a collection of military veteran life stories about the healing effects of service animals on veteran journeys with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and military-sexual trauma (MST). Christine’s capacity to listen and recount the words of storytellers create compelling testimonies to engage and endear support for veterans struggling to integrate back into civilian life and for anyone who is suffering from pain, trauma, sorrow, or despair.  Her stories enlist support of service dogs as an effective healing methodology for people journeying with PTSD.    Her stories encourage listening, understanding, and compassion.   Her stories inspire hope.

When not running trails among the trees and communicating with Mother Nature’s winged and four-legged inhabitants, Christine Hassing authors legacy and healing life stories, conducts speaking engagements, and teaches transformational servant-leadership tools and techniques to organizations and for individuals.  Author of To the Moon and Back to Me: What I Learned from Four Running Feet and a blog: Hope’s Spiral Staircase, Christine inspires readers to see that life’s every moment has purpose and beauty. In addition to her passion for the stories of the human spirit, Christine is also passionate about holistic healing and the power of animals as healers.
