Our Kalamazoo Sunrise Rotary Club was chartered in 1986, and its inaugural members transferred memberships from the Kalamazoo Rotary Club. Robert L Cook was the Club’s inaugural President and continued to be an active Club member until his death in 2018. Service projects have long been a hallmark of the Club, and many of those projects, including the Kalamazoo Memorial Day Parade, the Memorial Day ceremony at Riverside Cemetery and the annual Veterans Day ceremony held at the Robert L Cook Veterans Memorial at Rose Park, continue to this day.

Current Club membership has continued to decline to only 10 active members in 2024 and we have determined the Club can no longer to sustained. But our sad news has a silver lining.

A merger into the Rotary Club of Kalamazoo will once again result in one Club serving the City of Kalamazoo which will allow our established projects to continue and  provide new avenues for community participation in long standing Kalamazoo club projects. Our club merger will be effective June 30, 2024.

Our website and Facebook pages will continue to be active for a limited period of time during the transition. Find us next  at www.kalamazoorotary.org.
